When I heard about the McKee Music Fest it presented an opportunity to do something I had wanted to do for years. McKee Park offered a beautiful setting with a backdrop of shaded woods and a stream for what was dubbed “Paint the Music” by organizers Demian and Tina Gover. A 5’ x 10’ canvas was stretched between two large trees and while the featured bands played, children, teens, and adults could wander back and paint in a beautiful outdoor setting. The canvas went through several transformations throughout the day, even being partially washed away by a downpour of rain. I teach workshops and I must say this was one of the most enjoyable painting events I’ve been part of. Relaxing, a beautiful setting, a unique painting experience, and I met some more great Jackson County neighbors!
